Service Description

Prenatal Support: Initial Consultation – A chance to meet, discuss expectations, and see if the doula is a good fit. Prenatal Meetings – Typically 1-2 visits to go over birth preferences, comfort techniques, and any questions or concerns. Topics may include: Birth plan creation & advocacy: Pain management options (natural & medical) Partner involvement strategies Positions and movement for labor What to expect in different birth settings Ongoing Communication : Text, phone, or email support for reassurance, resources, and encouragement. Labor & Birth Support: On-Call Availability – Starting a few weeks before the due date, (37wks) the doula is ready to respond when labor begins. Continuous Emotional Support – Providing encouragement, reassurance, and guidance throughout labor. Physical Comfort Techniques – Hands-on support to ease discomfort, such as: Massage & counterpressure Breathing techniques Position changes & movement Warm/cool compresses Advocacy & Communication – Helping the client communicate their birth preferences with providers while respecting medical guidance. Partner Support – Assisting partners in ways to stay involved and provide effective support. Immediate Postpartum Support: Golden Hour Support – Helping with skin-to-skin bonding, initial breastfeeding (if desired), and emotional well-being. Birth Processing – Debriefing the experience and providing emotional support. Postpartum Comfort – Ensuring the client is physically comfortable before the doula leaves. Postpartum Follow-Up: Check-In Visit – Typically within the first week, to provide emotional support, answer questions, and offer newborn care or breastfeeding resources. Ongoing Support – Availability via phone/text for continued reassurance and resource referrals. The level of support depends on the doula-client agreement, but the goal is to provide compassionate, non-judgmental care throughout the journey :)
